Story
The two Jon’s are BACK in the saddle, they are ditching the training room for the great outdoors!
The Backhouse Jones’ Jon’s (Jonathon Backhouse & Jon Myhill) are joining Transaid’s Newcastle to Edinburgh Ride on 19th – 22nd September 2024.
The 159 mile cycle route connects the Tyne and Forth Estuaries and is packed full of areas of outstanding natural beauty, historic sites and nature reserves.
This challenge provides the opportunity for Backhouse Jones to raise essential funds for Transaid…and we are asking you to help!
Transaid is a unique, passionate organisation that works with partners and governments and focuses on professional driver training, transport management systems, and rural access to transport to solve two of the biggest challenges in economically developing countries.
Every driver should be able to leave for a day's work without the fear that they may not come home because of a lack of training, or dangerous vehicles and roads. Every family should be able to access vital healthcare; nobody should be left behind. Every person should have the opportunity to build the skills they need to transform their future.
Transaid transforms driver training, driving standards and transport management systems making drivers more competent, vehicles safer and reducing death and injury on the road.
