Story

Postponement

Due to inclement weather and circumstances beyond our control, sadly we must postpone this event until the new year. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. The rescheduled event will take place in February.

The Event

On February 1st 2024, at 4pm, we're running a sunset charity abseiling event.

We'll be meeting up on the famous Clifton Downs in Bristol, from here we'll take a scenic journey through flowering woodland to the bottom of the Avon Gorge. Here we'll meet our adventure team who will kit us up with safety equipment and teach us abseiling techniques.

The journey to the top of the cliff involves easy scrambling and at the top we'll be rewarded with stunning views of the suspension bridge and river Avon. Then it will be time to abseil off the top of Avon Gorge.

Please see below for logistics details.

All proceeds from this event will go to the charity Back on Track. If you would like to help raise money for our worthy cause, consider sponsorship from friends or family for the event, or run your own fundraising campaign, or simply donate to our campaign. Any and all contributions will help this very worthwhile charity.

The Charity

Back on Track is a Bristol-based men's charity. It is both a learning organisation and a place of sanctuary, run by men, for men.

We aim to alleviate suffering and reduce impoverishment through group activities, courses and classes for self-improvement, education and environmental awareness through rewilding, for the benefit of those who suffer through alcohol and drug disorders, mental health issues, homelessness, deprivation and neglect.

We offer a safe, communal environment offering anti-depressant experiences and life-improving, life-affirming adventures.
