Story

We are raising money for BLIND Children and Adults that can NOT ACCESS or PARTICIPATE in the LIFE CHANGING opportunities provided by Yorkshire Vikings Visually Impaired Cricket through Blind Cricket England & Wales.

Funds raised would enable YVVIC to expand their REACH to THOSE IN NEED and HELP WITH THIS ACCESS in NEW AREAS of the county. The cost of equipment, coaching, facility hire, and travel pose BARRIERS to PARTICIPATION for so many.

YVVIC have been EMPOWERING Blind and Partially sighted individuals of all ages and abilities to build their confidence to Connect, Learn and Support one another in navigating the ISOLATING CHALLENGES of Visual Impairment.

SPORT and COMMUNITY changes lives and improves MENTAL HEALTH.

Hugo and the Aysgarth School Community are raising money through a 16 MILE walking CHALLENGE - Aysgarth Falls to Aysgarth School.

We've chosen to support not just one, but two remarkable charities, both of which are deeply connected to two of our present pupils. By rallying behind The YORKSHIRE VIKINGS VISUALLY IMPAIRED CRICKET CLUB and CHANGING FACES, we hope you will lace up your walking shoes. We have created two JustGiving pages for this event. Please donate to The Yorkshire Vikings Visually impaired cricket club on this page, and Changing Faces on here.

HUGO is a blind pupil at Aysgarth School who breaks through all these barriers just like his brother and will be RISING TO THE CHALLENGE of THE WALK.

He is lucky to have the support of the Aysgarth community where anything is possible and blindness is part of everyones normal.

Most Visually Impaired children and adults don't have those opportunities or communities - they suffer ISOLATION, a LACK OF CONFIDENCE and FINANCIAL BARRIERS to varying degrees.

YVVIC offer comprehensive Cricket Programs, including National League and Cup Competitions, coaching sessions, and a thriving schools program for VI children.

Please Help Hugo and Aysgarth School achieve their goal to help YVVIC give access to more Blind Children and Adults in our region.

Thank you for your support .

We organise & manage blind/visually impaired cricket in the UK. Our sport is open to men & women of any age. Such provision is life changing for some of our participants as with unemployment amongst visually impaired people at 75% many visually impaired people can find themselves quite isolated.
