Story
MearnsCC will be cycling the Ayrshire Alps to raise funds for the Turkey & Syria Earthquake Appeal.
We are fundraising to build a house to support the Syrian's after the Earthquake. The project is ZAKAT eligible.
Before the earthquake, Islamic Relief had started rebuilding houses for the families displaced by the Syrian crisis. The intervention aims to find a solution and ensure a safe place for the people affected by the Syrian crisis, who currently live in tents, that provide no protection from the harsh winters and from the scorching heat during summer.
The aim of the project is to restore dignity and preserve the well-being of families in vulnerable conditions, and give hope to a generation born and raised in refugee camps, by giving them the opportunity to live a better future.
The Earthquake in the early hours of Monday morning in Turkiye and Syria is one of the most deadliest earthquakes in recent memory.
Tens of thousands of people have been reported injured across Syria and Turkiye, with many more trapped in the rubble following the terrifying collapse of infrastructure and almost 8,000 buildings. Ongoing rescue operations are taking place in a desperate bid to save lives.
