Story
Last year I raised £3,550 for the Alzheimer's Society by completing a 70 mile walk from The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic to the Abbey Stadium, home of Cambridge United in memory of my late nan who died in December 2021.
This year I hope to emulate last year's success by taking on another challenge. This year I will be setting off on Thursday 13 April to complete an 80 mile trek to Portman Road, home of Ipswich Town, arriving on Saturday 15 April in time for the start of the match between Ipswich and Charlton.
This year I will again be walking in memory of my late nan however, also in memory of my great nan who sadly passed away in February of this year, both of them having battled against Alzheimer's before sadly passing and this is why the charity is so close to me.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
This is why I want to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer's Society, in order to not only help find a cure but also to help support those affected whilst we still don't have one.
It would be a fantastic achievement if I can raise more than last year, however any money raised will be going to a good cause.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for any donations big or small.
