Story
Ava is a beautiful cat who came into care here at Oxford Cats Protection because it was felt she was struggling to adjust to changes in her home when a new cat was introduced and a baby was born. It was felt she would be more suited to an only cat household. She had been having trouble with urinating and defecating in her previous home and after lots of investigations by her families vet it was felt it was behavioural. She’s also a little overweight which is something the branch is aiming to support her with loosing a little to make her as healthy as possible.
When she arrived with us, Ava was taken to the local vets used by the branch and after an abdominal scan and X-Ray it was discovered that she had stones in her bladder. As a result, she is now booked in to have surgery to remove these stones and hopefully this will resolve the problem and make her feel a lot more comfortable. She is a beautiful, gentle, calm and loving cat. She craves company and likes to sit next to a trusted human and watch the world go by. All in all she is a gentle giant. However, with careful management she has lost some weight since coming into care. She loves to play with her toys and has the odd mad half hour when she charges around like a young kitten. She will make a wonderful, loyal companion for an individual or a family who can provide her with a quiet home with no other pets or young children and lots of attention when she wants it including regular grooming. Therefore, it’s really important we get her medically fit in readiness for rehoming.
The cost of the operation is approximately £1100, this is a large bill for our branch so any support you can give will make such a difference.
Anything raised above the target amount will go towards caring for other cats like Ava here at Oxford branch.
