Story

On 30 September 2023, many of our team will be taking part in the Walk of Hope Milton Keynes to support Brain Tumour Research, an incredible charity dedicated to raising awareness and finding a cure for all types of brain tumours.

Why did we choose to back this particular cause? Last month, Autotech Group's very own Gavin White underwent surgery after receiving a brain tumour diagnosis and will now embark on a regime of further treatment. Gavin is not only one of the founders of the company, but also a dear friend of many of us, and his condition has impacted us personally.

Gavin himself is no stranger to supporting various charities and to mark his recent birthday, we feel that the Walk of Hope is a fitting opportunity to both celebrate him and raise funds for this incredibly important cause. There are numerous events happening across the country on that day, but Milton Keynes was the perfect choice for us, being the home of both Brain Tumour Research and Autotech Group.

What is the reason behind our £2740 fundraising target? Each of Brain Tumour Research Centres needs £1 million a year to sustain the vital discovery research so desperately needed to find a cure for brain tumours. That’s £2,740 every day, per Centre.

By making even a small donation, you can join us in sponsoring a day of vital research. You will be contributing to a world where a cure for brain tumours is within reach. Your support means the world to us!

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
