Story
We lost Aurora in 2022, on her 13th birthday, to a previously undiagnosed congenital heart defect: Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. After suffering a cardiac arrest at school on 14th February 2022 she was taken to a specialist ward in Leeds for care. The Children's Heart Surgery fund supported us with our travel costs so a parent could be with her 24/7 as well as helping with the essentials in those difficult first days when we arrived in an ambulance with nothing but what we were wearing for work that day.
The CHSF provides life-saving medical equipment for the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, parent accommodation for families and vital ward resources. They also fund staff training, scientific research and new clinical roles.
This charity made the worst time of our lives that bit more bearable, so we try to raise money and awareness for them at every opportunity. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and we ask you all to wear red on 28th February this year to support this charity's work and in memory of Aurora.
