My children are fortunate to be able to go to school and learn. In stark contrast, according to UNICEF data from January this year, there are some 5.3 million children in Ukraine who face barriers preventing access to education, including 3.6 million children directly affected by school closures (https://tinyurl.com/unicefukraine2023). Children across the country have endured more than a year of escalating violence, trauma, destruction and displacement on a scale and speed not seen since World War II. Schools, hospitals and other civilian infrastructure on which they depend continue to be damaged or destroyed. Families have been separated and lives torn apart.  

Street Child's purpose is to see all children safe, in school and learning, especially in low-resource environments and emergencies like those prevailing in Ukraine due to the ongoing war there.
