Myself and some other members of Perth Parrots will be doing the 20 mile Mighty Stride Kiltwalk from St Andrews to Dundee on Sunday the 17th of August 2025. The charity we’ve chosen to raise money for is the Equality Network.

Perth Parrots is an LGBTQI+ inclusive floorball club with a community focus. This means that as well as playing our sport, we also run social events throughout the year for the LGBTQI+ community in Perthshire.

The Equality Network was founded in 1997 as a national organisation working for LGBTQI+ rights and equality. They aim to make Scotland a place where everyone can live free from hatred, prejudice and discrimination, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity. All of the Equality Network’s campaigning work is funded by donations. From the campaign to repeal Section 28 in the Scottish Parliament in 1999-2000, to all of their current work which includes fighting to end conversion practices and advocating for adoption rights, marriage equality, and trans rights: their work remains massively important and we want to help them do as much of it as they can!
