Story
I, supported by my wonderful Team Woodrow colleagues, am fundraising for Woodrow High House. I have challenged myself to try reach 100 push-ups in a single day throughout November - hopeful that by the 30th I will have achieved this! We are doing this challenge as a team because I cannot do it alone and need my team to help motivate me to achieve this goal. Just as we did throughout the pandemic, during the refurbishment, and since resuming operations, where they have remained stoic, resilient, and firmly committed to ensuring we recover and return to do what we do best.
So far this year, since reopening in January 2022, we have worked with circa 6’000 young people experiencing our Outdoor Learning Centre and Leisure Centre opportunities – including 795 young Londoners from our membership, from 38 different youth organisations, and around 300 young people and adults from our local community. It is exhilarating having young people back on residentials, enjoying our leisure facilities, and in our swimming pool – knowing the impact this will have on their lives as they face their fears, build confidence, learn resilience, have fun outdoors and enjoying sport.
Now more than ever children and young people need and deserve these experiences. They are the purpose that drives what we do at Woodrow High House. I am so proud of this passionate team for all they have achieved, and all they continue to do to make a difference to the lives of young people.
Every single contribution enables us to carry on the work of London Youth and I thank you in advance for your support in helping us fundraise towards this objective.
THANK YOU so much for reading, and your support.
Asti, Head of Woodrow High House
