I'm taking part in the TCS 2025 London Marathon for Bowel Cancer UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I'm running the TCS 2025 London Marathon as part of #TeamBowelCancerUK, in memory of John McEwan.
Bowel Cancer UK are the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. They're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
Your support will help stop people dying of bowel cancer by funding vital services and lifesaving research.
Just before Sophie and I got married in May 2023, my now father in law, John, was diagnosed with bowel cancer. After initially being told that it had been caught early, further tests identified a Stage 4 diagnosis which was a huge and terrible shock for our family, especially coming so close to such a happy day (the header photo shows John and me on the day of mine and Sophie’s wedding).
John very sadly passed away in October 2024 after months of incredible bravery in the face of terrible adversity. His passing has left a huge hole in the family and he will be very sorely missed by all that knew him.
I am very proud to be running the London Marathon as part of team Bowel Cancer UK to raise vital funds towards a cure for this terrible disease, and in memory of such a special person. The training will be tough but the thought of what John and everyone else suffering with Bowel Cancer, both went, and are going through will be a big inspiration.
Thank you.
