Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be trekking up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon - 1085 m) on the night of 05/06 August 2023 to help St Raphael's Hospice continue to provide exceptional hospice care everyday.
That would be a walk overnight in the dark with a head torch ! (Mind you - I would look silly with a torch in daylight).
The Hospice needs £6 million a year to run, relying heavily on public donations, legacies and fundraising to keep going.
The Hospice is not state-funded, even though every one of their patients is a NHS patient. The Hospice only receive about 25% of their costs from the NHS and the remainder, more than £4 Million per year, need to be raised.
St Raphael's Hospice is my local hospice and is also one of my link clinical placements and supports nursing students I teach. The peacefulness of mountains rhymes well with the charity.
This is a small way from me to say a personal thank you for the fabulous support all the staff provide.
Please donate if you can and any amount will definitely help.
Thank you
P/S I do not like the cold ! so that will be an interesting challenge for me.
