Story

We are walking in memory of our Stephen. At age of 25 he received the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 stomach cancer. Stephen fought to stay with us as long as he could, this precious time would not have been possible without his treatment from the Beatson. Every member of staff there is incredible, they helped us remain positive during an impossibly difficult time. Without them we may not have had the extra time together to celebrate Stephen’s 26th birthday with a big family party and make memories. Stephen wanted to live but time was unfortunately not on his side, without the Beatson that time would have been even shorter.

Stephen lost his battle on the 22/04/24. He is so missed. Our world will never be the same. We want to walk in memory of Stephen in the hope that more people can benefit from the care at the Beatson. Stephen would be secretly pleased at all the attention but outwardly he would call us his favourite word.
