Story
The horrific events on October 7th in Israel left many B'nai Mitzvah age siblings and children of fallen soldiers without their loved ones. My name is Asher, and as a 12 year old this tragedy hits hard for me because these teens are my age and part of my larger Jewish family. As I learn of the extreme suffering of Israeli children who have lost a loved one during this war my natural instinct is to take action, I want my Bar Mitzvah Project to focus on helping alleviate this suffering as best as I can.
Life experience has taught me that feelings can be worked out through sports and activities. Support from peers dealing with issues like your own makes you feel understood. That's why I chose as my Bar Mitzvah project to raise money for the non profit FIDF program Legacy Summer Camp, a place where grieving teens of Bar/Bat Mitzvah age children have an opportunity to bond with other teens who have had a similar experience. Together they will be helped to support their family through tragedy and move towards rebuilding their lives. If you wish to support my Bar Mitzvah Project of sending bereaved Israeli Youth to Legacy Summer Camp, please donate.
Thank you!
