Story
This time last year, I made the decision to lay my dog to rest. She was 14 years old and had lived half of my life with me. She was my little bestie, and is dearly missed everyday.
My dog was a staffy, a breed that is negatively viewed, like all other bully breeds. Originally bred for dog fighting, staffys have a reputation for being aggressive and dangerous. Those of us that have staffys know that this is far from the truth, and that they are amongst the most loving, loyal and gentle dogs. As they say- there are no bad dogs, just bad owners.
Nevertheless, staffys continue to be ill thought of and are typically the most common breed found in the rescue kennels.
The ‘Staffie and Stray rescue’ is a phenomenal charity that works hard to rehome abandoned and stray staffys. So far, they have rehomed 712 staffs to date.
I am fundraising for this charity to support their brilliant work, in memory of my dog. All dogs deserve a safe, warm and happy house.
Here’s to supporting more dogs in finding their fur-ever homes.
