Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge, 23 September 2023

Story

On the 23rd September 2023, myself and a group of my colleagues from Berkeley Group and Berkeley Group IT, will be taking on the "Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge" to raise money for our charity partner, Surrey Young Carers. Tackling the three peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours. The total walking distance is 39.2km (24.5 miles) with over 1600m of ascent. There are 115,000 unpaid carers in Surrey looking after someone who couldn't manage without them. Caring can be extremely isolating and can take its toll - it can affect all aspects of life. But Surrey Young Carers are here to support by phone, through face-to-face meetings, support groups and workshops. They help with benefits advice, advocacy, give practical help and provide a wealth of information and free events.

We support young people under 18 who care emotionally or physically for an adult or sibling with a long term illness, disability or drug and alcohol misuse.
