Story
This year THE ECHO TROPHY is proud to once again support The Evelina Children’s Heart Organisation. ECHO is a wonderful charity run by volunteers that supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who’ve been treated by Evelina London and its network hospitals across the UK. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey from the moment of diagnosis through childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services. ECHO provides practical and emotional support and welcomes families into a community of shared experience and understanding, at times when there is little other help available.
On Sunday 30th April 2023, the AS Camboli ‘Legends’ will look to defend the ECHO trophy against the AS Camboli team of 2023. A hard fought contest last year saw the Legends win on penalties but most importantly, with the fantastic support of the players' families and local community, the event raised over £6400 for ECHO and Little Stars, Frimley Park Hospital.
This year we will also be supporting ‘Young Lives vs Cancer’. This charity helps families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. They have supported the family of one of our own players whose daughter has undergone life saving cancer treatment.
Every penny from the match including ticket sales, player sponsorship, mascots, raffles etc. will be going to the two charities.
You are invited to show your support for the match and the charity by sponsoring players, buying a ticket for the match, becoming a mascot for the day, taking part in the match itself or any of the activities we hope to have organised on the day. Volunteers to help and fundraising ideas are also welcome! All donations, however small, make a difference. On behalf of our family and the wider AS Camboli family, we thank you very much for your contributions and support.
