Story
A little over a year ago, I was diagnosed with tongue cancer. My treatment involved 30 days of radiotherapy and 5 cycles of chemotherapy. It was tough going and during my treatment it was ‘hard to swallow - well almost bloody impossible’. The whole team involved at James Cook University Hospital, from diagnosis, treatment to recovery have been brilliant.
I now want to give something back to James Cook University Hospital Radiotherapy Department, Ward 14 (where I had to spend 6 days at the end of my treatment) and ENT to help support others on their journey to recovery. I am going to complete 30 short walks around Great Ayton for the 30 radiotherapy sessions I had.
On 25th March, almost a year to the day of my first radiotherapy session, I’ll complete my first walk and will finish my 30th walk around Great Ayton on the 23rd April.
Please donate to help others.
Many thanks for your support in the past and now the future.
