Story
Guide Dogs Scotland are our charity partner this season and we'll be supporting them in a number of ways, from collections at games to raising money through sponsorship of our 3rd kit in Guide Dogs colours. We're hoping to raise enough money to name a new guide dog puppy, with penny raised will go towards Guide Dogs life-changing services.
We want to hear your suggestions for the perfect Arbroath FC name to call the puppy so get thinking and use the hashtag #afcnameapuppy on social media with your suggestion. Once we receive some of your nominations, we shall short list for an online vote. Watch this space!
By naming a puppy our supporters will have the opportunity to be at the heart of a guide dog puppy's story. As well as providing a puppy with a special gift of a name, we will follow their journey as they aspire to become a future life-changer for someone living with sight loss.
Commercial Director Paul Reid said “This is an extremely unique opportunity for Arbroath FC’s supporters, players and staff to really make a difference to someone life who is living with sight loss and having a legacy of a working guide dog having their name chosen by our supporters.”
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
