Story
Imagine living life in a cage. That was Ryders life.
Ryder, who is 18 months old, has lived his life kept in a cage, making his muscles weak. He came into our care after sustaining serious injuries, which include a fractured jaw with degloved lip and some tissue necrosis. This meant Ryder was unable to use his mouth to eat.
After three and a half hours of surgery and tube feeding while in recovery, Ryder is slowly getting better, and eating a soft food diet…although he is still unable to close his jaw while it heals, and it may never fully close again. – This is why he looks like he is meowing at the camera!
Ryder has displayed to his fosterer that he is a sweet-natured cat who loves cuddles, even from the vet.
We are so happy to have Ryder in our care, doing better every day, but the Branch needs help to pay for his extensive treatment.
At the moment the vet bill on Ryder is over £2000 and we are asking our kind supporters to donate to Ryder’s cause.
We would like to thank Abbey Veterinary Clinic, Arbroath for waiving the hospitalisation charges as a contribution, and for their amazing efforts in treating Ryder. We hope this is a new chapter for this playful cat and he will no longer face a life caged and in pain.
The minimum donation JustGiving allows is £2, if you think you can spare £2 today, the money will come directly to Arbroath Branch and help fund Ryder’s treatment.
Should we be fortunate to raise over the target amount required for Ryder’s care, funds will be used to help our other cats in care at Arbroath Branch.
Thank you for your kindness.
