How do we live with ourselves when little girls sleep bare foot through cold, icy nights?

How can a man sleep peacefully in a warm bed with the radiators on, while in a Syrian refugee camp, a mother and her children mourn their baby, their little brother or sister who was taken by the cold?

It doesn't sit right with me.

I tasted a tiny bite of the cold in the Syrian winter when I lived next door. Palestine in December of 2013 dropped a meter of snow on us.

We don't tend to think of Arab and Muslim countries as ever being cold. If we visit, it's usually in the summer holidays and we watch movies depicting the middle east as one big desert.

But because of this, our brothers and sisters are most neglected in the cold, when they need the tender warmth of our loving ummah the most.

With the help of our community of Arabic students, I want to give 20 families the warm embrace of what our ummah is supposed to be this winter.

So whatever you can spare, please contribute something. Please don't leave this page without leaving just £1 for our families in need of warm clothing.
