On March 16th 2025, I’ll be running the Barcelona Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a cause that means a lot to me. Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.

I’ve been inspired to run this marathon because I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact that early-onset Alzheimer’s can have. My close friend’s dad was tragically taken by this cruel disease at the age of 65. The family’s battle showed me just how important it is to support research. I want to help their campaign and run for Alzheimer’s Heroes. Alzheimer’s Heroes is an initiative which spreads awareness and aims to contribute towards a future where Alzheimer’s can hopefully be curable.

My wife’s grandmother who was always the life and soul of every family event was diagnosed with Dementia. She slowly stopped recognising the names and faces of her 26 grandchildren and needs 24 hour care.

Alzheimer’s is not just about memory loss and it doesn’t just affect those diagnosed. It takes away independence, personality and deeply impacts families, carers, and loved ones. Right now, there is no cure but we can help change that.

I’m running the streets of Barcelona for all those affected by dementia, for the families fighting every day, and for a future where we hope no one has to experience the terrible effects of this disease.
