Story
Craig Hanson, Andrew Fisher, Josh Clark, Kelly Bateman, Neil Forrester, Neil Rutherford, Nick Boyton & Sarah Lewis are coming together to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to support The Red Sky Foundation, a charity that played a pivotal role in saving the life of our esteemed leader, Craig Hanson. On the 8th December 2021, our team was devastated to learn that Craig had experienced a sudden cardiac arrest, meaning his heart stopped for an agonising 10 minutes.
However, thanks to the quick response and intervention of his family and neighbours, coupled with the deployment of a life-saving defibrillator generously provided by The Red Sky Foundation, Craig's life was miraculously saved and a tragedy was averted. We are now extremely pleased to say that Craig is in tip top condition and back at work with us, still managing to keep his North East sense of humour despite all that happened!
This incident highlighted the importance of having access to life-saving equipment and the crucial role that charities like The Red Sky Foundation play in our community. By raising funds for The Red Sky Foundation, we aim to express our gratitude and ensure that they can continue their vital work of providing essential resources and support to individuals facing medical emergencies. Together, we can make a difference and help save more lives.
The Red Sky Foundation:
The incredible impact of the Red Sky Foundation extends far beyond the boundaries of conventional healthcare. With an unwavering dedication to making a difference, they tirelessly go above and beyond the existing NHS funding to provide exceptional support for babies, children, and their families during the most critical moments of their journey towards healing. Through steadfast collaboration with key partners, this remarkable organization ensures that their assistance is precisely tailored to address the most pressing needs in the realm of specialist cardiac care.
Their collective efforts have yielded astounding results, with an astonishing £950,000+ raised through the boundless generosity of donations, corporate partnerships, and a series of extraordinary fundraisers. From the magnificent Red Sky Ball to the exhilarating Great North Run, and the countless individuals in our communities who have selflessly pledged their time and energy, each contribution has played an invaluable role in driving the Foundation's mission forward.
This remarkable influx of support has enabled the Red Sky Foundation to procure critical equipment and services that have transformed countless lives. With over 400 defibrillators donated to schools, football clubs, and communities across the entire expanse of the UK, from vibrant Bristol to the resolute North East, they have created a widespread safety net that protects hearts in need. Furthermore, they have acquired two Echocardiogram Heart Scanners, an Organ Care Transplant System Machine, and have even appointed a Specialist Fontan Procedure Cardiac Nurse. Moreover, their ongoing holistic treatment for babies and children, coupled with specialist software for cardiac surgeons, has revolutionized the way they approach and tackle cardiac-related challenges.
To ensure comprehensive care, they have established a counselling service that provides vital emotional support.
They have also proudly contributed funds towards other ground-breaking cardiac projects that promise to shape the future of cardiac care.
