Story
I'm running the team relay Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 5th May to raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI.
My best friend Megan was diagnosed in December with Hodgkins Lymphoma. It was a scare for everyone as we didn’t know what this meant for her. She has had to stop her placement year and take a year out from uni which was extremely unfortunate. She started her chemo in February and will continue so until September of this year. It has been a difficult thing to process for our friends and especially Megan.
Megan is a committee member for QUB Surf Club and so we wanted to do something special. 5 members from QUB Surf Club (including myself) are running this marathon to show Megan that she’s has so much support not just from her friends but also from the club. We want to show that she is not alone and that she has her friends here for her through this tough time!
Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI are the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to funding blood cancer research and by supporting me you'll be helping local researchers and clinicians as they aim to #BeatBloodCancerThroughResearch.
