Story

Hello family and friends. Well who would have thought that I would be starting a new career as a model at the age of 58? Thanks to the marvellous people at Future Dreams (please check their website to see the fantastic work they do with those who have had a breast cancer diagnosis) who are organising a fashion show on Thursday 25th May, I will be debuting on the catwalk. My fellow supermodels have all had a cancer diagnosis. The approx 30 ladies have all had a breast cancer diagnosis and the 4 men have had a variety of different cancers. My prostate cancer was found in a routine checkup despite me having no symptoms. Due to its advanced nature the specialist said that the best treatment was a prostatectomy. 2 years later I am having 6-monthly blood tests (up from 3-monthly) and so far the news has been good and my PSA level remains negligible. From being a scaredy cat who previously sweated up before any injection I now have no fear for these tests. Please ask your 50+ year old fathers, brothers, uncles, male friends or colleagues to have a simple blood test to get their PSA levels checked. It takes no time and could make a real difference to them and their families. If you are able, please support my big day by either buying tickets for the show or by sponsoring me on this page. I am doing this catwalk thinking of family, friends and close colleagues who have had a cancer diagnosis. My employers Credit Agricole are very generously matching the first £500 I raise so your donations will do even further. Thank you x
