Campaign by University of Southampton (RCN HMRC Registered)
Our Cancer Immunology Fund helps our scientists create innovative new cancer treatments and to save even more lives in the fight against cancer.

Story

Having never been a 'runner', I have decided to take on the challenge of running Southampton Half Marathon (probably rather slowly!) in April 2025 with my partner Kalen.

We are proud to be raising money for the research happening at the Centre for Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton!

Some may know that professionally I am involved with the work happening at the Centre, and I am inspired daily by the ground-breaking research happening there - leading to kinder, better and more effective treatments for those with cancer.

I’ve been fortunate to meet many people through my job whose lives have been saved as a result of the research and I’m delighted to play a very small part in ensuring this continues to happen in the future.

If you have a moment, you can read more about the amazing individuals who have been impacted by the University of Southampton's immunology research here - https://www.southampton.ac.uk/research/institutes-centres/centre-for-cancer-immunology/read-our-stories.

I am doing this in memory of my lovely Grandma June, who passed away from secondary breast cancer 8 years ago - and who I still very much miss every day.

Thank you!
