On Sunday 26th May I completed a 27-mile sponsored walk to help raise funds for St Oswald's Hospice in Newcastle.

9 weary souls set off from Alnwick Castle in the pouring rain at 7am and over the next 10 ½ hours, we trudged through farmers’ fields, climbed sand dunes, crossed rivers, scrambled up hillsides, jumped over fences, until we eventually reached Bamburgh Castle.

Having taken 62,000 steps on the day, I still can’t really walk and my feet have taken something of a battering, but it was all in a good cause as they say.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. We have raised over £2,000 so far, with all of that money going directly to the hospice.

St Oswald’s is a truly amazing place. A charitable hospice rooted in the North East region, providing outstanding, specialist care to adults and children with life limiting conditions.

The job they do is both humbling and inspiring in equal measure and I know from first hand experience what an unbelievable impact they have on the lives of both patients and their friends and families.

I’m very pleased to be able to support that great work in a very small way, so thanks on behalf of St Oswalds for any support you provide!!
