Story
I’m running the London Marathon for the MS Society after my partner Jenni was diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis after experiencing pins and needles for weeks at a time.
Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune condition where your immune system mistakenly attacks your brain and nervous system, and affects people in many ways. There isn’t currently a cure, but research into effective treatments is constantly ongoing to help ease some of the symptoms of MS, and hopefully one day we'll be able to cure it in full.
The MS Society has been a huge source of information and comfort to both Jenni and myself throughout the diagnosis process, which is why I’m raising money so that they can continue their fantastic work in supporting people affected by MS. Jenni recently started treatment which should help to reduce the likelihood of any relapses occurring.
Starting treatment would never have been possible without the vital contributions to research conducted by charities like the MS Society. I'm hoping that I can raise as much as I can for the MS Society as I train for and run the London Marathon in April 2024. As someone who has done practically no running in the past few years, I'm sure it will be a massive personal challenge for me, but it certainly won't be as challenging as MS can be to live with.
Thanks for all the support and I'll be keeping this page updated with training progress (via my Strava profile) and any other events I get involved with along the way!
