Story
I’m writing this at Geneva airport with heavy legs and a full heart after an incredible four days cycling through the Swiss Dura mountains with 70 of my nearest and dearest colleagues from the Lloyd’s market - and if we weren’t friends before, we sure are after those climbs 🚴🏻♀️🤪
Cycling 420kms, climbing 16000ft and 20 hours on the bike is the toughest challenge I’ve undertaken and also the most rewarding.
Humbling ascents, stunning descents and incredible views across oceans, lakes, vineyards, rolling hills and countrysides were simply breath taking.
But the best part is the friendships that were made, often at the toughest times of the ride. Working together and supporting each other through the hills and the heat, and remembering why we are doing this - to raise money to help others. The last four days have made me so proud to work in our industry and showcase the best of what we can do, together.
Thank you to Sarah Stevenson and Lucy Holloway and all the team at Action Medical Research for such a brilliant few days in support of the amazing work the charity does to provide the funding for ground breaking research that makes a huge difference to lives of millions of families and children to enable them to live longer, better lives.
Thank you John Neal and Lloyd's for supporting the Lloyd’s ride and our wonderful team ❤️ and everyone that took part - Ki Insurance Brit Insurance Lockton Verisk SCOR Guy Carpenter Ascot Group Everest Aspen Insurance Group
