Story
Our Teignmouth Lifeboat Station was established in 1851 supporting rescues along the busy shores between Berry Head and Exmouth and of course, up the River Teign. Today, as one of the oldest working stations, we still continue to work as a community water safety operative, with crews from our local stations working together to respond to calls from the Coastguards to save lives at, in or around the sea and shorelines.
Our industrious, creative and cheerful volunteers organise all kinds of events to help raise much needed funds which assist in the running of the station and to provide the very safest and most reliable equipment for our crews, who operate a 24 hour search and rescue service, 365 days a year.
This is my 22nd year of volunteering for the RNLI and whilst celebrating the RNLI Bi-Centennial year, I felt that I could do something that I’ve never done before, every month for a year! As I’m celebrating a very special year too, as indeed my husband and supporter Brian is, why not try a MARATHON!!!
We are about prevention through education opportunities and preservation of life - it would be fantastic if YOU could be one of our supporters to help us achieve funds to support our crews - we are “One Crew” working together to make a difference to save lives at sea.
