Fundraising for Brain Tumour Research
It's very difficult to understand the brutality of a brain tumour until you experience it at close quarters. Brain tumours take away the very essence of the person.
Our family had no knowledge of brain tumours until Tom was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma stage 4. The treatment was brutal, the disease was relentless.
A very vibrant, joyful, life loving man was cruelly taken from us.
We read that brain tumours are rare so why then do they kill more people under 40 than any other cancer? Research is known to improve outcomes for so many cancers, but only 1% of the total spend on research goes to brain cancer.
Our family decided to support Brain Tumour Research which is a charity devoted to funding Centres of Excellence committed to properly fund targeted research. Our efforts are merely an irritating little gnat on the nose of Glioblastoma but we are proud to add our support to the work of the charity in memory of our beloved Tom.
Thank you for reading this in this Brain Tumour Awareness Month.
