We help veterans and their families to live the life they deserve after service
Story
My husband Peter Duncan dedicated 41 years of his life to serving our country in the Royal Navy as a Medic .From the Falklands war to Afghanistan he proudly served and earned an MBE in 2017 for his service .
Sadly in 2022 Pete suffered a life changing stroke which nearly took his life and left him severely disabled and suffering from aphasia ,both our lives changed dramatically that day.
Help for Heroes have been an invaluable lifeline for both of us.They have provided incredible emotional support ,along with generous financial assistance for vital equipment ,specialised physiotherapy and speech therapy .
They have provided respite weeks away for Peter giving me the chance to recharge and give me the strength to cope with the challenges we face day to day .
Now I’m seizing the chance to give back to this wonderful charity ,I’m embarking on a thrilling paragliding adventure off the mountains of Les Gets in France and dragging my daughter Sophie along with me for the ride (glide).A small act of gratitude for the unparalleled support Help for Heroes has shown us during this difficult time ,they are more than a charity, they are like family to us
