We raise awareness of Aortic Dissection to improve diagnosis and survival rates

Story

Many of you know that 8 years ago, I survived an Aortic Dissection. As a result of alert medical staff and swift diagnosis, I had emergency surgery to deal with the AD. Since then I have had 2 further major surgeries and have had my entire Aorta replaced. My journey has been tough, but I am SO grateful to be alive. Along the way, I have met other survivors, helped to form a patient support group and, more latterly, a Charity to raise awareness of this devastating condition. I will be 60 on September 2nd…….woah!!! So…..to celebrate being alive and grateful to those who have supported me along the way, I would like to suggest that donations (rather than presents) are given instead! Our AD charity is very precious to me, and already making a difference in the AD world.
