Story

I believe that no one should sleep outside - especially not youth and young adults. We just saw in the news that homelessness is getting worse in Seattle in every area except one - youth homelessness. Rates are going down. Why? Because there are effective programs doing amazing work.

Did you know that the YMCA of Greater Seattle is the largest provider of housing for homeless youth and young adults in King County? Especially with the acquisition of Nexus (formerly Auburn Youth Resources).Whether it's at our amazing Arcadia shelter in Auburn or through our housing at Roy St on Capital Hill or at our Young Adults in Transition (YAIT) housing in downtown Seattle, , the Y is helping to ensure that some day we can say that no youth and young adults sleep outdoors in King County.

Will you join me in this? For my 61st birthday, I am hoping that 61 of my friends will donate a minimum of $10 to help the Y tackle homelessness of youth and young adults. Please consider joining me in this important work.
