Story
Back in June, I joined the one in two people in the UK who will get cancer. Being diagnosed with breast cancer at 44 wasn’t on my agenda for 2023! Thankfully it was caught early and prognosis is good.
I’m currently undergoing chemotherapy at the mighty Christie Hospital in Manchester. Like most stuff, I’m learning that the best way through a tough situation is by seeing the positive and staying active. So on the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I’ve decided to raise money for a brilliant charity called Breast Cancer Now.
I’m going to walk 100 miles in October, while undergoing my chemo treatment. I’ve already roped in friends to join me on walks (you know who you are!). Research also shows that movement is helpful during chemo, alongside lots of catnaps.
I know times are hard, so please don’t feel obliged to donate unless you can afford it. But if you do read this, check your boobs today (or get your partner/mum/sister to). It’s worth it. X
