Every year, thousands of young Londoners are pushed into homelessness and danger through no fault of their own. That’s why New Horizon Youth Centre exists. Team New Horizon are racing for young Londoners in this year's Hackney Half Marathon.

Story

This year I will be running the Hackney Half alongside one of my uni friends Hannah - as we both attempt to run 21.1 km having not been runners in 2024 at all.

Part of the reason we're keeping on going is to rally up support for New Horizon Youth Centre. New Horizon are the only youth-specific rough sleeping outreach service and the only youth-specific day centre in London, where young people from all across London and the world can access their holistic support.

Over 118,000 young people are facing homelessness in the UK - a 10% increase from the year before.

In my current role campaigning at Centrepoint and also seeing the amazing work of New Horizon colleagues, I am witnessing the thousands of young people facing homelessness who are robbed of reaching their full potential due to not receiving the support they need/deserve.

Every year, thousands of young Londoners are pushed into homelessness and danger through no fault of their own. That’s why New Horizon Youth Centre exists.

It would mean so much if you donate to keep us motivated as we run the half!

Every year, thousands of young people across the capital become homeless through no fault of their own. That’s why New Horizon exists. We are a vital support network for 16–24-year-olds with nowhere else to go. Through our services, we support young people experiencing homelessness in London to improve their wellbeing, change their economic circumstances and find somewhere that they can call home.
