Story
In July 2019 my mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour after suffering a major seizure whilst on holiday in France. This was the scariest time of my and my family’s lives. The surgeon believed the tumour, which was 3.5cm in size, had been slowly growing for over 30 years. Fortunately, it was benign and was successfully removed after surgery.
My mum is the most important person in my life; she’s the most selfless and caring person, despite everything she has been through she’s come out stronger than ever and I am so proud of her. Now is my time to make her proud of me! I am climbing Kilimanjaro (again) in August 2024 - I’ll make it to the top this time!!
Many of you know I didn’t make it last time after being evacuated with chest problems, so this is me facing my fear, when I am feeling scared or nervous, I just think what an incredible charity this is, and my nerves go away. I am absolutely terrified to go back but I am even more excited to finally summit the worlds tallest freestanding mountain for such a special cause to my family!
Brain Tumour Research is such an important charity; they fund vital research into this horrible condition and provide support to those going through this. You can read stories like my mums on their website which goes to show how this work directly impacts real people.
So please, support this research by donating any amount you can afford. Every penny counts and every penny means so much to me, my family and anyone who has been affected by a brain tumour.
I have funded this trip myself so your donation will be going straight to the charity x
