Berlin Marathon 2025 · 21 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Story

I’ll be celebrating my birthday (21 September) a bit differently this year: by running the Berlin marathon in support of Save the Children.

Save the Children helps millions of children in the UK and across the world get the medicine, good food and education they need. Every child should have medicine when they’re sick. Every child should have enough to eat. Every child has the right to learn. Save the Children works to help make that happen.

The opportunity to run the marathon for Save the Children came up thanks to my employer, GSK. Through a partnership, the two organisations help overcome some of the most frequent barriers to accessing healthcare in some of the world’s poorest communities.

As a result, every donation made to this page will be matched by GSK - doubling your contribution!

I’ve completed two marathons before, so in theory I should be able to get round. However, I’ve never gone under 4 hours, so that would be a real personal achievement.

No matter what time I run, raising money for a worthwhile cause will certainly give me extra motivation as I tick off each of the 42.2 km / 26.2 miles – and head closer to the finish line (and birthday cake!)

Thank you for supporting me.

Anna.
