We support anybody affected by self-harm to make sure they're not fighting alone

Story

On 28th April 2024, Annabelle Guthrie and Callum Brown will be taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk’s ‘Mighty Stride’ - a 22.8 mile walk from Glasgow Green to Loch Lomond to raise money for Battle Scars.

Battle Scars is a mental health charity who support people of any age and gender who are affected by all forms of self-harm and eating disorders, including individuals and their families. Battle Scars is a 100% survivor-led and run charity offering local, regional, national and international support around self-harm, aiming to break down the stigma, raise awareness and support families and carers of people who self-harm. They aim to ensure that no one who struggles with self-harm in any form fights alone, offering peer-led support groups to anyone in the UK. They educate and influence change, and break down the self-harm stigma by leading professional training for educators and health professionals.

This charity has been chosen due to personal connections with self harm through previous experiences, the experience of relatives and support given to family members.
