Story
I'm (somehow...) running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 for Dementia UK. My granny was sadly diagnosed with dementia, and it was only then that I truly learned the devastating impact of it. Witnessing her decline was heartbreaking for all of us and caring for her while navigating that feeling of loss was incredibly hard. That's why I am proud to be raising money for Dementia UK.
Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nurse charity. Their Admiral Nurses provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time and knowledge to listen and solve problems, helping families regain control when they are struggling.
Running Landmarks was quite a spur-of-the-moment decision. I restarted Couch to 5k in December, and after running for a whole five minutes and receiving a kind offer from a friend to "join them on their Landmarks training runs," I thought, 'Maybe I'll just run the whole thing instead.' So here we are.
Please donate if you are able. It really would mean so much.
