Story
I am so honoured to be running the London 2024 Marathon on behalf of The Felix Project, in loving memory of Felix Byam Shaw. This incredible charity is very close to our family’s heart, particularly for my brother James, as Felix was and always will be an incredibly close and special friend.
In 2016, Jane and Justin Byam Shaw founded the most remarkable charity in Felix’s memory, which rescues good, surplus food from the food industry that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. They sort and deliver the food to almost 1000 front-line charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in and across London, reaching physically and mentally vulnerable people, as well as those who cannot afford to buy regular, healthy food.
The Felix Project provides a free door-to-door service to collect the surplus food from suppliers and delivers it to charities. In 2021 alone, they provided 30 million meals and the charity continues to grow and receive unbelievable amounts of support, praise and help across London. They are an incredibly inspiring group of people, and I am so proud to be supporting them.
The demand for the charity continues to grow, as does the number of volunteers needed. If you have the time, please do consider signing up here: https://thefelixproject.org/help-us/volunteer-london
The Felix Project and I would be so grateful if you could donate any amount in support of this wonderful charity. Thank you so much.
Sending love,
