Story

We are running the London Landmarks half marathon in memory of our beautiful daughter Charlie, who died just after her 2nd birthday from a mitochondrial disease, and also to support Liz, the founder of The Lily Foundation and Lily’s mum.

When Charlie was diagnosed with Leigh’s Syndrome our world was shattered, we were left feeing scared, terribly alone and had so many questions, fortunately we were immediately put in touch with Liz and her team at The Lily Foundation.

We were quickly wrapped in support and love, we had access to a wealth of knowledge from parents who sadly had first hand experience of what we were going through- we were not alone!

The Lily Foundation supported our family when it was at its most broken, their dedication to research has enabled our family to rebuild, we will never be complete and that is something Steve and I have to live with every moment of the day but thanks to The Lily Foundation, Liz and precious Lily our family has a happy future.

Please help to support the incredible work they do, the devastated families they support and the futures they help to create.

Please donate what you can as every penny helps and will give hope.

Thank you
