Story

Dear Friends, Please Help ❤️❤️❤️

Once again, we turn to you with a heartfelt request for help for my beloved daughter, Ania.

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we’ve been able to take the first, VERY important step toward her recovery. Without your help, this would not have been possible. With the funds raised, we managed to finance an eight-week stay for Ania at the Animus Rehabilitation Center. There, through professional treatments and the commitment of the specialists, Ania made incredible progress. Another five-week visit in May also brought significant improvement – Ania is doing better and, with the help of a special rehabilitation bike, purchased in part thanks to your donations, she has grown much stronger.

Unfortunately, Ania has not received any rehabilitation support in the UK, so we are planning another trip to Poland – possibly a permanent move. We believe that with intensive therapy, Ania has a chance to improve and regain independence. Please, help us take the next step on this difficult journey.

Ania's Story

On August 23, 2021, Ania's world – and our family’s – was turned upside down. At the age of 38, she fell ill with COVID-19, and her condition became so severe that she required mechanical ventilation and was placed in a medically induced coma. For a month, she was connected to life-support equipment. Upon awakening, she was diagnosed with severe polyneuropathy – Ania could not move any part of her body. Since then, she has been fighting every day to regain her health.

Now, more than three years after her diagnosis, Ania still cannot move her arms or legs on her own, and each day brings new challenges. Only recently has she has been able to breathe independently during the day, although she still requires oxygen support at night. Intensive rehabilitation is her only chance to regain muscle strength, relearn basic skills, and increase her independence.

The ideal solution for Ania would be a three-month stay in a specialised rehabilitation centre, where she could benefit from personalised therapy provided by a team of specialists – a neurologist, physiotherapist, psychologist, speech therapist, and others. Unfortunately, the cost of such a stay is as high as 75,000 PLN, which we cannot afford.

We Ask for Your Support

Illness can strike anyone, regardless of age or health. Before the illness, Ania was always smiling, full of life, and we never imagined such misfortune would come to us. As a mother, I am doing everything I can to help Ania regain her health. Ania has a kind heart and was always willing to help those in need.

I know that kindness returns, and I believe that with your support.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for any help – every gesture, every bit of support is priceless to us. ❤️❤️❤️
