I am running for Anthony Nolan due to my mum getting diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia on 13th December 2023 it really put a hole in my heart finding out the news and watching her go through what she did and not being able to see her or have her home for weeks upon weeks. We couldn’t be more grateful towards the Anthony Nolan team who helped my mum get her stem cell transplant once her leukaemia had been killed and this was to make sure it wouldn’t come back we are now in August 2024 and she is doing so much better now and each day is getting stronger and stronger. My mum ran the Marathon in 2008 and I thought this year I will do it as she is such an inspiration to me and I know with what she has been through I can do this as a non- runner I have begun my training
Anthony Nolan’s world-leading stem cell register, groundbreaking cell and gene therapy research and expertise in stem cell transplants means we currently help four patients a day in need of a transplant, giving more people another chance to live. But we know we can, and must, do more. Driven by patients, backed by stem cell donors, powered by science, and with your support, we won’t stop until we’ve uncovered the lifesaving potential of the cells inside us all, and every patient can survive and thrive.
