Story
Maggie’s Wirral is a cancer support centre based on the grounds of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
Unlike the cold, clinical corridors in a hospital, Maggie's is a peaceful haven - warm, vibrant, and full of life.
Anyone can drop in with no appointment or referral required. Much needed respite is just moments away from the hospital.
My Dad was diagnosed with advanced Prostate Cancer in 2018. After a long battle with his illness my Dad died in April this year leaving behind his 4 daughters, 2 grandchildren and his much loved wife, our Mum. My Dad was a firefighter for Merseyside Fire Service and in all aspects of his life put everyone else before him. After he passed so many described him as a gentle man and a gentleman. Adored by so many. He is such a massive loss to our family that we struggle daily to come to terms with.
I have had the opportunity to spend time at Maggie’s and see how beneficial and important it is to cancer patients and their families. Maggie’s has provided me with the space and time to switch off from the world and process my grief in peace and quiet in such beautiful, tranquil surroundings.
I see first hand how important Maggie’s is to people and would be so grateful for any possible sponsorship no matter how small to give back to such an amazing charity.
