Story

During the first COVID-19 lockdown, many people were suddenly faced with new challenges and difficulties and no resources to cope; The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation was initially established as an emergency foodbank to support those facing unexpected financial hardship during this time. Since then, they have evolved into a multi-faceted charity with community at the heart of everything they do - providing a broad range of supportive welfare services to those in need.

For more information about their work, you can visit their website at: https://mccarthydixon.org.uk/

I've been working with the foundation for over a year now and have seen the support the charity provides in the community via food parcels for vulnerable families in the schools network, social clubs for older adults to reduce isolation and loneliness, the varied help needed for individuals around befriending, gardening, DIY services, food parcels, general welfare support.

The foundation do an incredible job at helping so many across the county, staff and volunteers are always willing to go the extra mile to help people in so many different ways. I am proud to work with them, so I am trying to help fundraise as I see the level of need increasing all the time.
