Story

Valuing those who care

I want to raise awareness and funding to support unpaid and family carers in the Bradford district. I have seen first hand the amazing love that carers of all ages give to family members who need care and support.

I will be walking with a team of people from different parts of the Shipley constituency - which I hope to represent as MP in future.

Carers' Resource gives practical and emotional support to unpaid carers of all ages, across Bradford, Harrogate, Craven and Selby.

A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, frailty, disability, mental health issues or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.

A carer could be:

A young person looking after a parent or sibling

An adult caring for an elderly parent or neighbour

A parent looking after a child with additional needs

A husband or wife caring for their partner
