As a student and dancer I have watched many dancers, teachers and other professionals working within the industry struggle with mental health conditions. I have seen lives and careers massively affected, cut short and some lives tragically lost to it.

This is something very close to my heart having also experienced my own challenges throughout my life.

Mental illness is not a choice and not a sign of weakness. But the steps taken by individuals and communities to support and understand the issues are choices and ones which we all play a part in making every day.

STEPPS is a charity which I am proud to be a trustee of. It is on a mission to address mental health in the dance industry, working to ensure dancers experiencing mental health challenges feel seen, understood and supported so they can enjoy what they love.

Any contribution no matter how small is greatly appreciated by this up and coming charity.
