Story
This cause is so close to us as The Brick provide vital services for the most vulnerable people in our borough, many of whom Hayley and I work with so we see first hard the impact that their work has on a daily basis. We are taking on this challenge to try to raise some funds for The Brick to continue their amazing work and are grateful for any sponsorship!
Families in Wigan & Leigh can face various types of poverty, including fuel, food, hygiene, and period poverty but did you know that in the UK 894,000* children don’t have a bed of their own. Bed poverty is a critical part of child poverty, and it manifests in different ways for different families. Some children share beds with their parents due to the lack of separate sleeping spaces, others sleep on the floor, and some can't replace broken beds or buy new bedding.
Funds raised from the Stadium Sleepout will support projects like our furniture re-use schemes and multibank that sources and redistributes essential household items to people in need via our network of referral partners such as social workers and schools.
